The Epic of King Gesar Ling

When a raindrop falls into a still pond, It dissolves inseparably in its own nature, And nothing has occurred. But when the same raindrop falls into the same pond, Ripples shine and dance on the water's skin. From these two ways of seeing one thing come the true magic that raises and destroys kingdoms, That increases joy or misery, brilliance or degradation - The Famous Poetic by -The King Gesar

Every now and then a spiritual or secular giant of unimaginable power appears on the world stage to bring order and harmony. About eight centuries ago, a glorious, miraculous man of amazing power took birth among the nomadic community of eastern Tibet. He conquered many parts of that land and brought to its peace and harmony, he was the King Gesar of Ling.
The Epic of King Gesar Ling
The legend of King Gesar has been circulating among Tibetans for over 1000 years. Little is known in the West during the early days of the Internet. It is the longest epic in the world.

Stories of King Gesar were primarily passed down in oral form, but even the existing written copies, which are estimated to comprise only 10% of the epic, number 246 volumes – containing over 1.5 million lines.

King Gesar represents the principle of warrior ship – not in the sense of war skills, but in the sense of realizing the power, dignity and wakefulness that are inherent in all of us as human beings. The confident warrior conducts himself or herself with a gentle, fearless, and open-hearted intelligence in all aspects of life.
Ancient Warrior
Warrior ship here refers to realizing the power, dignity and wakefulness that are inherent in all of us as human beings. It is awakening our basic human confidence which allows us to cheer up, develop a sense of vision and succeed in what we are doing.” In this context, the meaning of warrior ship transcends any idea or expression of aggression.

King Gesar raised hundreds of thousands of warrior men and women under the leadership of his legendary warrior commanders: the Seven Men of Supreme Warrior hood, the Thirty Warrior Brothers, the Eighty Champion Warriors, and the Eighteen Supreme Ladies.
Among them the most famous commanders were :
1. Gyatsa Zhalkar,
2. Tsazhang Denma Changtra,
3. Shenpa Meru,
4. Amye Nangchung Yutag,
5. Palha Michang Karpo,
6. Dralha Tsegyal,
7. Atag Lhamo,
8. Jangtrug Yulha Thogyur.
The Manifestation of Guru Rinpoche
King Gesar was a manifestation of Guru Rinpoche. His chief commanders were also believed to be enlightened, appearing solely to serve the world.

King Gesar constantly received teachings and prophesies from Guru Rinpoche, many divinities and Dakinis in pure visions, as from person to person. He also received teachings and transmissions from the great sage Amye Changchup Drekhol of the Lang clan and others.

Enlightened beings appear in the forms, sounds and actions of wrathful manifestations and expressions. These wrathful manifestations and actions do not come out of anger, attachment and grasping at “self” nor in order to harm or cause suffering to anyone.

They come out of love and compassion, and they are powerful manifestations that destroy and eliminate the negative forces, the very sources of suffering.
The miraculous departure of the King Gesar Ling
At the age of eighty-eight, Gesar summoned Tsazhing Denma, the only old warrior commander who was still alive, and the warrior princesses of the young generation with his beloved Ling subjects to Sengdrug Tagtse, his main palace in Ma valley.

After giving Dharma teachings, he declared that the time of his final departure had arrived. Then the next day, many saw him flying away through the sky sitting on a shawl of light held up by four Dakinis, and then he disappeared. Others saw him dissolving into a rainbow-body, leaving the clothes that he was wearing but no mortal body behind.
The Prophecy of the coming of King Gesar
According to Mipham Rinpoche and some others great masters, King Gesar will reincarnate as Rudrachakrin, the 25th Rigden King of Shambhala or The Shangri-la.

The prophecy of the reincarnation of the Rudrachakrin, the 25th Rigden King of Shambhala or The Shangri-la is being prohecies that in the year 2424 A. D. Rudrachakrin will conquer the dark forces and inaugurate the dawn of a new golden age of peace and joy on earth.

Shangri-La was best known in the west as a mystical hidden and invisible paradise supposedly in the Tibet. It is also said that in the Year 2424 A. D. Rudrachakrin will conquer the dark forces and inaugurate the dawn of a new golden age of peace and joy on earth.
For ordinary Tibetans, those King Gesar epics remained a powerful source of inspiration to Dharma, awakening inner courage in their hearts and knowledge of the greatness of their past.

Tibetan & Chinese New YearCelebration - Year of The Earth Dog 2018.

February 16,2018. The Tibetan Losar Festival is likewise a Chinese New Year celebration. In ancient times when the peach tree would blossom, it was viewed as the beginning of another year. Since the systematization of the Tibetan calendar in 1027 A.D. the first day of the principal month is settled toward the start of the New Year.

On New Year’s Day, families join together and ‘auspicious dipper’ is offered, and the words ‘Tashi Delek’ are used for individuals to welcome each other. This day is an event when Tibetan families rejoin to expect fortune in the coming New Year and is known as Losar.

The Losar celebration begins from the first to the third of the principal Tibetan month. Entryways are painted with religious images, making tribute to family, places of worship. On New Year’s Eve, Tibetans eats grain crumbed sustenance with their families. After dinner, it is the time of the Festival of Banishing Evil Sprits!

Lights are lit and people run and shout to free of evil spirits in their homes. Prior to the beginning of the New Year’s Day, housewives get their first bucket of water to get breakfast ready. After dressing up, people open their entryways and go to religious communities.

On the third day, the prayer flag, which was hung up the prior year will be supplanted with another one. Other activities will be held amid the occasions.

People born in the Years of the Dog:

1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018.

If you're born in a Dog year, and the following is deemed lucky for you:

•Lucky numbers: 3, 4, 9
•Lucky colors: red, green, and purple
•Lucky flowers: rose, cymbidium orchids

As per both the Tibetan and Chinese Astrology of the Dog, the eleventh indication of the Tibetan and Chinese zodiac is thoughtful, sympathetic and intelligent.

A person conceived in the Year of the Dog has a twofold way to deal with life and his associations with others. If you benefit from his companionship or his love, a Dog will never disillusion you.

Featuring - The Tibetan Mastiffs

Tibetan Mastiffs are – you got it – massive! They average about 25 inches tall at the shoulder, and on rear legs stand nearly as tall as people. A solid weight range for Tibetan Mastiffs lies between 85-140 pounds, and their sumptuous thick hide just adds to their size. This breed looks more like a lion than a canine; and in all honesty, demonstrations more like a lion or bear than a dog as well.

The Lion canines

Like bears or the lions, the Tibetan Mastiff’s demeanor is frequently depicted as standoffish. He cherishes his personal space and is profoundly defensive of his den. He’s a guard dog, above all else, and will frequently go off individually to patrol. He has his own schedule and doesn’t appreciate being instructed. As a result, these majestic canines require firm handlers.

With enough practice, and forbearance, Tibetan Mastiffs will work with their masters to come to a compromise. At the point When your Mastiff at last becomes your companion, he’ll be your defender or safeguard for life.

Ancient War Dogs

Tibetan Mastiffs have a long, storied history. Their precursors accompanied the Persians amid the rule of their empire. They vanquished landmasses by the Romans and the Huns, and antiquarians speculate Tibetan Mastiff forerunners were praised as war dogs to the point when they settled in Tibetan valleys.

In the wake of remaining detached for a considerable length of time, they became more domesticated. This shouldn't imply that they were lap puppies! In actuality, these dogs remained in homes amid the day and roamed free during the evening for the village’s protection. After some time, they became trusted and revered by villagers throughout Tibet and the Himalayas.

Twofold Layer Coats

Tibetan Mastiffs have a generally high maintenance coats. They are thick, with twofold layers, for surviving frigid climates. Some Tibetan Mastiffs have significantly thicker hair close to their neck that resembles like a lion’s mane!

They should be brushed a couple each week to control shedding and washed when required. Furthermore, their regular shedding, sometimes called “molting”, is so immense to the point that you may need to take them to a groomer.

Tibetan Mastiffs are fierce companions that guard and secure with all that they have. Try not to give their independent nature a chance to trick you – they are the most content when close by their families.

As you sow, so shall you reap.

Every drop of water helps to swell the ocean
Every good and bad action will not go unnoticed
As you sow, so shall you reap.  Your deeds, good or bad, will repay you in kind.

Days slip into weeks, weeks turn into months and months transform into years. Calendars are changing and so am I and you too.

If a person is spreading happiness through charity, good work, being kind and sympathetic toward others, it means he/she is sowing the seeds of happiness that will produce the fruits of happiness in present of future”.

Our life is nothing else but it is just like an agricultural soil; if we want better crop from this soil than we must sow the good seeds in it; because quality and quantity of the crop is completely depends upon the quality and quantity of seeds we have sown.

Law of the Karma stipulates
• The consequences are always depends upon the action.
• Our present always makes or helps to make our future.
• We are the only person in this world; responsible for the effects of our actions.

But many a times it happens; If we do good towards others, even if it doesn’t yield the proper result immediately; it does not mean it has gone in vain; we can certainly expect goodness out of it in the future.

It’s never too late to turn it all around. Be honest with yourself and others. When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world. Forgive those who have harmed you consciously and intentionally.

Forgiveness does not change the past, but at least it can shape the future. We have to change. We are doing what make us happy. After all, we are responsible for our own happiness because we owe it to ourselves.

New Year Aspirations - Confession

Medicine Buddha’s Confession Prayers
DIK TUNG KUN SHAK GE WA JANG CHUB NGO
NE DON DUK NGELDREL WAY TRASHI SHOK
JIK TEN PA NAM RANG NE BENZA MU
YE SHE DAM TSHIK LHA NAM DAK LA THIM
KA DAKKUN ZANG LONG DU. E MA HO.

English translation - Medicine Buddha’s Confession Prayers
I confess all wrong and downfalls and dedicate all virtue to awakening.
May there be the most auspicious of freedom from sickness, harmful spirits and suffering.
The worldly ones return to their own places, BENZA MU.
The Jnana and Samaya Sattvas dissolve into me.
I dissolve into the expanse of all goodness, primordial purity. E MA HO.
Purifying negativity is a basic theme of Buddhist philosophy and practice. According to the teachings of Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha of our era, each being has a mind, the basic nature of which is purity, goodness, compassion and wisdom. This basic nature, often called “Buddha Nature,” is the basis for the experience of perfect compassion and wisdom called enlightenment.

But while all beings possess this “seed of awakening, it is often obscured by negativity such as; conflicting, emotions, habitual tendencies, and the belief in a solid, permanent and
unchanging “self ” and environment.
These obscurations lead us to commit negative actions, which (according to the Buddha’s teachings on karma) bear fruit as the suffering of cyclic existence (called “Samsara.”). To uncover our basic nature and to stop accumulating negative karma, the Buddha taught that we should:

1. Do away with negative actions;
2. Practice virtuous actions; and
3. Tame the mind (through meditation).

On a daily basis, Buddhists strive to become more aware of their thoughts and actions and to see how those thoughts and actions shape their experience and their world. They also strive to stop performing negative actions and to purify negative actions they have already done, while at the same time strengthening positive actions, and expanding the positive actions they already are performing.

By doing this, they eliminate negative karma (and its attendant suffering) and increase positive karma (and its attendant happiness). They also remove obscurations, allowing the Buddha nature to become more manifest.
The Practice of Confession
One of the most powerful means of purifying past negative actions and eliminating future negative actions is the practice of Confession. Shakyamuni gave teachings to his followers on the power of confession, and confession was a regular feature of the daily prayer life of his followers.

We can practice confession ourselves on a daily basis. Daily confession helps us confront our faults, become more aware of how our actions affect others, and short-circuit our habitual tendencies. As we do this, negative habits, lose their grip on us, our obscurations
slowly lift, and we become more “in touch” with our Buddha Nature and our potential for spiritual awakening.
We make confession by reciting a confession liturgy, such as reciting the sacred Sadhanas, Sutras and Mantras.  A Special Means of Purification is to recite the Vajrasattva Mantra. In addition, the Vajrayana teachings of the Buddha contain a special means for purifying negativity is the 100-syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva.

The Mantra is composed of seed syllables that are the embodiment of 100 “families”—all of the deities of the Vajrayana. Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa in Tibetan) has vowed that his mantra would have the power to purify even the most terrible misdeeds, it is among the most powerful means we have for purifying negative karma and obscurations.

The Tibetan word for mantra is “ngak,” implies power, meaning that the words themselves are powerful. But our attitude and intention in saying them is crucial, as well. Any mantra can bring about purification, if you think it will. But Vajrasattva’s mantra is especially powerful and prominent.
The 100-Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva
OM VAJRASATTVA SAMAYA,
MANUPALAYA VAJRASATTVA,
TENOPA TISHTHA DRIDHO ME BHAWA,
SUTOKHAYO ME BHAWA, SUPOKHAYO ME BHAWA,
ANURAKTO ME BHAWA, SARWA SIDDHI ME PRAYACCHA,
SARWA KARMA SU TSA ME, TSITTAM SHREYANG KURU, HUNG,
HA HA HA HA HO, BHAGAWAN SARWA TATHAGATA,
VAJRA MA ME MUNCA, VAJRI BHAWA, MAHA SAMAYASATTVA, HA.

New Year Aspirations - Aptitude

Yes, I am changing. * I am doing what makes me happy. After all, I am responsible for my happiness. And I owe it to me.*

Days slip into weeks, weeks turn into months and transform into years. Calendars are changing and so am I and you as well.

Today is January 04, 2018. I am sharing a message from one my Lama teacher to you as a courtesy reminder for everybody including myself. Life is valuable and it accelerates towards its end always.

None of us knows when the most recent day of our expedition in this magnificent world will be. Vulnerability is dependably with us each minute, yet we go about as though we will live eternally.

In the event that we mull over profoundly about our lives, we may comprehend that our existence is fragile and destructible. It is momentary and impermanent, and this is the main right set of circumstances for us to be grateful and appreciative.

Changing ourselves into better people as we live. As for an individual, we conceived with imperfection. The capacity to take a shot at our defects and enhance ourselves is an interesting and unique nature of the human life.

Nonetheless, a large number of us turn out to be excessively focused when we uncover our flaws when dealing with an undesirable circumstance. We shed tears  and discouraged.
We overlook that the way toward gaining from fault and idealizing ourselves is the texture of existence. In this way, remind ourselves to cultivate the teaching of the Buddha without much theatrical work. Regardless of whether we will have a charming New Year or not relies upon how we think and how we manage our lives.

With respect to myself, I am not anticipating  a smooth year, but rather I seek to have better aptitudes to withstand the effects of a hostile situation and carry on with my life completely notwithstanding when I am stuck with adversities.

Being cared for ourselves is the way to joy. At that point cautiously it will extend onto others as well. So my aspire for each of you is to respect yourself and others. You are all-important to many individuals on every side of you.
