A Heartfelt And Fascinating Story Of Tibet - Bringing Tibet Home.

This film is the pivotal, poignant and deeply personal debut feature documentary by Tibetan filmmaker Tenzin Tsetan Choklay. The film crew follow from start to finish the New York based Tibetan contemporary artist Tenzing Rigdol while he creates his most ambitious, political and crucial installation yet, the Soil Project.

Inspired by his father's dying wish, to once again set foot on Tibetan soil, Rigdol transported soil from Tibet through Nepal to Dharamsala, India, to bring a piece of Tibet to the exiled community who are unable to return to their homeland. Choklay films Rigdol's physical and emotional journey to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges as he navigates the border controls of three countries to smuggle out 20 tons of Tibetan soil.
A deeply inspiring portrait of human resilience at its most tested, and a profound example of enduring creativity through times of political turmoil.

Saga Dawa or the Vesak day festival

Afterbirth, the Buddha began walk on the 7 lotus steps
He stopped with his noble voice shouted:
" I am the chief of the world,
Eldest am I in the world,
Foremost am I in the world,
 This is the last birth,
There is now no more coming to be."
The Saga Dawa Festival honors the life of Buddha. According to the tradition, when Buddha was dying, he instructed one of his followers not to honor him merely with flowers, incense and lights after he died but by striving to follow his teachings about living a noble life and being kind and compassionate.

The Buddha he urged people not to weep about his death but to remember that all compound objects like the human body must eventually disintegrate. In various Buddhist countries, people celebrate the holiday in different ways and on different days.
Enthusiastically, the Tibetan people celebrated on the full moon day of the fourth Tibetan Lunar month, Saga Dawa is the most important religious festival of Tibet. During the festival the main actitivies involve going to temples raising a tall prayer pole , called the "Tarboche" prayer flagpole and lighting many butter lamps for the occasion.
The entire Tibet is deeply immersed in the festive and spiritual atmosphere. Almost every Tibetan Buddhist is seen reciting the mantra prayers with the mala beads. According to the Buddhist literary sources, Saga Dawa festival is celebrated to highlight the day when Sakyamuni (Buddha) attained the enlightenment. The Saga Dawa Festival is an ancient festival that is celebrated by people in different countries in differing ways. Tibetan Buddhists try to do what the Buddha said and give alms and pray.

It is thought that praying and alms giving and doing acts of benevolence during Saga Dawa and in the holy month after this multiplies the merited return to the giver far more than on regular days. During the month, many Tibetans also refrain from killing animals.

Tibetans think of it as Buddha’s birthday, but they also celebrate his achieving of enlightenment and his death on the day. Many Buddhists around the world call the day Vesakha or Vesak from the Sanskrit name Vaisakha. Though the holiday is still celebrated on different days around the world, it is considered by many to be the most important Buddhist festival day.

The Living Journal - Pain is certain, suffering is optional

Happiness is a journey and not a destination. Take the right steps and with a little persistent, little more efforts. To us what seemed to be a hopeless failure, may well turn to a glorious success, so remember if you want to predict your life, the better way is to create it.

As we grow, we slowly realize that wearing a $3,000 or $30.00 watch, they are both telling the same time with no differences and preferences.

Whether we carry a branded wallet / hand bag, the amount of money inside is the same, whether you are flying the first, business or economy class, if the plane goes down, we go down together with it.
The house that you are staying whether is a 500 or 5,000 sq ft, the loneliness is the same. When times goes by, we will realize that our true source of inner happiness do not come from the material things of this world.

When you are financially blessed, you may raise your standard of living, but do remember to raise your standard of giving as well.
The simple fact of life:-
Don't educate your children to be rich, instead educate them to be responsible and kind.

Eat your food as your medicines, otherwise you have to eat medicines as your food. Feel the pain and sufferings of the animals who had sacrificed and being the food that served you on the table. If possible, always chose your next meal with your compassion, chose vegetarian and practise loving kindness.

If you want to walk fast, and then walk alone, but if you want to walk a distant, then we walk together. Those that loves you will never leave you because even if there are many reasons to give up, he or she will hold on.

The Living Journal - I Sleep On Their Threshold

Om Ah Hum Benza Guru Pema Sidhi Hung
Om Ah Hum Benza Guru Pema Sidhi Hung
Om Ah Hum Benza Guru Pema Sidhi Hung

“For every one, man or woman, who has faith in me, I, the lotus born, have never departed. I sleep on their threshold”

“I am present in front of anyone who has faith in me, just as the moon casts it reflection, effortlessly, in any vessel filled with water.”
The wisdom words of Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava.
Guru Rinpoche, the lotus born in this world of Samsara and degeneration and you had made vast aspirations. You are the descendants of the great compassionate of Amithabha Buddha and Avalokestesvara Bodhisattva from the pure land of Dewachen.

You are praised like the immaculate white lotus, for whoever hears and calls your name can never fall back into the Samsara world. The most compassionate precious Guru, supreme teacher, Bhagavan, Tathgata complete and perfect Buddha, the glorious conqueror, Guru Rinpoche. In you I take refuge and homage to you.
After many years in Tibet, in the Wood Monkey year (864), Guru Rinpoche prepared to leave and he knew that the cannibal demons, inhabiting the south-western continent of Chamara—Ngayab, were set to invade and destroy India, Nepal and Tibet, and if not subjugated and subdued, the cannibal demons that inhabiting in the south-western continent of Chamara—Ngayab would sweep the earth and destroy all human life.

Guru Rinpoche gave final teachings and instructions to each of the disciples, and then, on the tenth day of the monkey month, Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava mounted a beam of sunlight and in the flicker of a moment soared away into the open sky.

From the direction of the south west, he turned his face to look back, and sent forth a light ray of immeasurable loving kindness that established the disciples in the state of non-return. Accompanied by a cloud-like throng of dakinis, outer and inner, and amid the sound of the music they were offering, he went to the south-western continent of Ngayab.
Guru Rinpoche has pledged to return and help those who ask for his help on this particular day. Guru Rinpoche is generally said to respond to people’s prayers anytime but he is believed to have made a special commitment to return to the world every tenth day of the Tibetan lunar month, riding on the rays of the rising sun in order to help the sentient beings.

* Important note
It's important to have a Tibetan Holy mantras app that you have downloaded on your smart cell phone, Ipad available for your own practise , meditation especially when is the tenth day of Guru Rinpoche auspicious prayer day.

Ushnisha Vijaya - The goddess of immortality and healing for diseases

[For Mother's Day with love editions]
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds that influence of mothers in society. I will be very glad indeed to share with you for more Tibetan female goddess, Yogini, Dakini and Deities to honor and tribute to our beloved Mother.

Ushnisha Vijaya in Tibetan is known as Namgyalma or Namgyelma. She is one of the three revered deities of longevity, along with the White Tara and Amitayus Buddha. Ushnisha Vijaya combines aspects of three deities (for this reason her three heads), each associated with a Sadhana (wish).

Ushnisha Vijaya has a white colored body, three faces and eight arms. The middle face is white, symbolizing the elimination for all misfortunes, the right face is yellow manifests her Compassion for all beings, and the left face is blue and to some extent wrathful signifies her skill at cutting through ignorance through wrathful means.
Her three faces, each has three eyes, the yellow one with the gently pursed lips is charming and beautiful, the principal white one somewhat open and moderately wrathful, while the blue face bares its fangs in a display of ferocious wrath. Coils of hair symmetrically fall across her two shoulders. A green scarf embellished with gold engulfs her with a flourish, acting as a halo.

The first right hand holds a crossed Vajra at the heart. The second holds a lotus on top of which sits Amitabha Buddha. The third holds an arrow. The fourth is in the gesture of supreme generosity.

The first left hand is in the threatening Mudra, holding a Vajra noose. The second holds a bow. The third is in the gesture of giving refuge. The fourth is in the meditation gesture, holding a precious vase filled with the nectar of immortality. Ushnisha Vijaya goddess sits on a single lotus seat in front of, but metaphorically within, a Stupa (reliquary mound), which is dictated by her iconography.
If one recites the Ushnisha Vijaya mantra into the ear of an animal, you ensure that this is its last animal rebirth. If somebody suffering from a heavy disease that physicians are unable to diagnose, the Lord Buddha taught the ** Deva Denpa, he or she will be liberated from that disease. Bring to an end all future rebirths in the lower realms and after death be reborn in a blissful pure land.
** There is a story during the time Shakyamuni Buddha, the dying god named Deva Denpa, due to his Karma, and when he starts experiencing the signs of his near death and he predicted his future life is about to be reborn in an animal realm, Deva Denpa very worried and he approach the Buddha Shakyamuni for help, the Buddha manifested as the deity Ushnisha Vijaya and gave him the empowerment of the mantra. Deva Denpa recited the mantra six times daily and in seven days completely changed his karma and he did not have to be reborn in an animal realm.
Reciting Namgyalma’s mantra with your devotion and faiths. Even if you are in danger of dying because of the karma that determines your lifespan is running out, clean your body, wear clean clothes and abiding in the Vajrayana Sojong practice of confessions or the Mahayana Eight Precepts, recite the Ushnisha Vijaya mantra for thousand times daily, you can increase your lifespan and purify your obscurations and free from diseases that manifest from the bad karma.
If you put the mantra and the banner above the doorway, whoever passes beneath it is purified and not reborn in the lower realms. In Tibet, paper with this mantra written on it was touched to the dead people’s bodies, the mantra purifying their karma and preventing rebirth in the lower realms.

The Ushnisha Vijaya mantra, it grants victory over illness and receiving blessings for a long and meaningful life benefiting others. This three faced goddess with eight arms is incredibly powerful for granting extension of one’s life through recovery of illness and avoiding premature death through accidents and disasters.

The Ushnisha Vijaya practice is considered to be extremely effective not only for eliminating obstacles to long life, but also for purifying the negative results of unwholesome actions of body, speech and mind motivated by the poisonous delusions.

The Living Journal - The power of the Dakini

A courtesy update, today is the 25th day of the Tibetan  calendar , and it’s the Dakini prayers day according to the Vajrayana traditions.

The Three Roots in Tibetan words known as the “tsa sum”. The secret forms of the Triple Gems refuge formulation of Tibetan Buddhism, which originated in India, formulation from the time of Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava. These alternative refuge formulations are employed by those undertaking Deity Yoga and other Tantric practices within the Tibetan Buddhism as a means of recognizing the universality of Buddha nature.

The functions of the Three Roots are:
· The Outer refuge  – The Guru or Lama is the root of blessing.
· The Inner refuge  – The Yidam is the root of accomplishments.
· The secret refuge – The Dakini is the root of protections and activity.
Dakinis are depicting in a female form and the Sanskrit word is Dakini. In Tibetan its literally means “Khandro”. Khan,  meaning sky and Dro meaning traveling. Taking it together, Khandro means one that can move or travel through the sky or space. It's very important we think about this literal meaning in trying to understand the enlightened Dakinis.

There are many different and levels of Dakinis and the enlightened Dakinis in general can be a guiding light along the path, removing physical and spiritual hindrances and they can play a great part in an individual's attainment of enlightenment.

They are the forces that awaken dormant (hidden) qualities of spiritual impulses or desire hidden in the subconscious. It is the Dakini's inspirational or motivation influence that can open one and remove obstacles, but it is the Wisdom Dakinis that we should be interested in learning about and who we can rely on to truly release us from Samsara.
Examples of the enlightened wisdom Dakinis:
1] Green Tara
2] White Tara
3] Kurukulle
4] Vajrayogini
5] Singhamukha
6] Machig Labdron

Arya Green and White Tara are the manifestation of the Avalokitesvara, (Chenrizig in Tibetan) (Kuan Yin Pusa in Chinese) both Arya Taras can be functioned and practiced as the form or an enlightened Dakini.

A female practitioner who has attained some capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding and accomplished with some insight skilled of the Buddha nature, but not yet fully liberated and still caught in the cyclic world of Samsara and she is considered to be the earthly Dakini.

Both the worldly and enlightened wisdom Dakinis can have supernatural powers. The Enlightened and worldly Dakinis both can be found in human form as well as in the astral (lunar) form and could have a form of a beautiful fairy-like being or a wrathful and demonic flesh-eating being.
From their look you might think they are evils and the demonic terrifying appearance, but the enlightened wrathful form of Dakinis are the manifestation of the compassion of the Buddha and Bodhisattva who protects the precious Buddha’s teachings and Dharma. Their terrifying appearance is meant to frighten forces of evil.

There are many females Tibetan practitioners who had attained the highest level of realizations and become a highly powerful Tantric Yogini or a wisdom enlightened Dakini and some become an earthly Dakini (Unenlightened Dakini).
Tsok offering on Dakini day
The Tibetan word of Tsok is tsok kyi khorlo which is literally meant an accumulation or gathering. The Meaning of Tsok is a method for gathering the accumulations of merits and wisdom.  Tsok offering can be performed on the 10th day of Guru Rinpoche day and 25th day of Dakini day respectively of the Tibetan calendar.
