Chapter 6: Living in Harmony with the Protector's Energy
Many practitioners make the mistake of viewing Dharma protectors like Ekajati as external, mythological deities living only in paintings and ancient texts. In the advanced view of Vajrayana Buddhism, however, the protector's energy is a living presence that interacts with our minds every single second of the day.
The Mirror of Speech: Guarding the Gate
Because Ekajati is the supreme guardian of the Secret Mantra, her energy is intimately tied to the power of human speech. Every time we speak, we are either creating conditions for wisdom to flourish, or we are inviting spiritual obstacles into our lives.
Lineage masters teach that speech can be a direct path to inviting the protector's wrath or her absolute, loving guard. When a student engages in malicious gossip, harsh words, or reveals profound, private spiritual experiences to skeptical worldly people, they pierce the sacred bond of confidentiality. This action immediately weakens the invisible protective aura surrounding their life.
The Single Eye of Pure Focus
As we explored in Chapter 1, Ekajati's most famous anatomical feature is her single eye. In our daily lives, this single eye translates into single-pointed mindfulness. Ordinary worldly minds are completely scattered—constantly bouncing between past regrets, future anxieties, liked things, and disliked things.
When you practice remaining strictly in the present moment during your daily work, chores, and resting periods, you are stepping directly into Ekajati’s non-dual view. You stop dividing the world into good and bad, and instead perceive the single, unified essence of reality...
In our exclusive member area, we dive into the secret 'Three Gates of Guarding' ritual to align your physical life with the protector...
