Acts of Loving Kindness

Kindness is the language
The blind can see it
The deaf can hear it
The animals can feel it

Many people may have recited a thousand of mantras yet if he or she without any sense of kindness and compassion toward others, it is just like the parrot singing and get absolutely nothing but mere merits.

How great is it that our random acts of kindness and good deeds can make someone else’s entire day? Take five minutes to send postcards or emails to sick children who are fighting serious illnesses and want to receive mail.

Find opportunities to practice and sometimes by just giving a compliment. It costs nothing, takes no time, and could make someone’s entire day.

Do our best to have a little kindness towards others, including all beings as often as possible and let contemplate, let our love and compassion unfetter you from ignorance and sharpens your ability to appraise.
Compassion and kindness are like the sanctuary that provides us a safe haven, when the storm is raging around us and naturally our reaction is to seek and find a shelter for safety.

So,compassion and wisdom are the wings that lighten all human’ development in many aspects of our lives, whether it’s a spiritual journey or a self achievement.

Loving kindness and Bodhichitta are the messages of life, you don't learn only in institutions. Life itself is a living Journal that teaches something to those who wish to learn. This is the reason why I am always beginning my writing post of a title of The Living Journal.
The Living Journal is related to Dharma and Dharma is a living philosophy and teaches us how significant to learn the Dharma and to apply it in our daily life. Your little kindness goes a long way and leave footprints of your love and kindness wherever you go.

A Land Will Leave You Spellbound - Sikkim India.

Sikkim was blessed by Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava, the great Indian Buddhist saint who visited Sikkim in the 8th century and consecrated the land, meditating at its four corners to rid it of all negativity. He is believed to have hidden many secret teachings, which he prophesized would be discovered in the future by those specially blessed by spiritual powers.

Today Sikkim has nearly 200 monasteries and Lhakhangs and the influence of Buddhism is felt in nearly every corner of the state. From the fluttering prayer flags to the sacred caves, lakes and stupas, the images and symbols of Buddhism retain a freshness undimmed by the passage of time.
Sikkim paid homage to its patron saint by constructing the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the world atop the Samdruptse hill near Namchi in South Sikkim. The grand 138 ft statue was unveiled in February, 2004 and has been crafted according to details specified in religious texts. The statue is visible from as far away as the India-Nepal border and Darjeeling. It has already become a major pilgrimage site with both domestic and foreign tourists making it a part of their itinerary. A two-kilometre long ropeway will soon connect the Samdruptse hilltop with Namchi. Sikkim, is truly a land of the Buddha that will leave you spellbound.
His Holiness the Karmapa' principal seat in exile is the Rumtek Monastery Sikkim India and also called the Dharmachakra Centre, is a gompa located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok. Rumtek is one of the most significant and largest monasteries in Sikkim, Rumtek is perched on a hill overlooking Gangtok.
The monastery was founded by Wangchuk Dorje, the 9th Karmapa. Rumtek served as the main seat of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Sikkim for some time. After construction of the monastery was completed. The sacred items and relics brought out from Tsurphu Monastery, the Karmapa's seat in Tibet, were installed. On Losar in 1966, the 16th Karmapa officially inaugurated the new seat, called "The Dharmachakra Centre. The monastery is currently the largest in Sikkim. It is home to the community of monks and where they perform the rituals and practices of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Due to a controversy within the Karma Kagyu school over the recognition process, the identity of the current 17th Karmapa is disputed.
A golden stupa contains the relics of the 16th Karmapa. His Holiness the Sixteenth Karmapa has written about the benefits of veneration at Rumtek Monastery. One of these is a method of accumulating merit with one's body, which leads both visitors and residents alike to perform kora, the circumambulation of the Dharma Chakra Centre complex along the stupa walkway. At the top of the hill is the tenkhar, a small home built for the dharma protectors and local deities.
The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. The statue was consecrated on 25 March 2013 by the 14th Dalai Lama, and became a stop on the 'Himalayan Buddhist Circuit'.
The statue of the Buddha marks the occasion of the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha. This statue was built and installed in the place through the joint efforts of the Sikkim government and its people. The Buddhist circuit of this park was built here under a State government project, for boosting pilgrimage and tourism in the region.

The First Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche - Guru Pema Gyalpo

Guru Rinpoche is said to have taken eight forms or manifestations representing different aspects of his being, such as wrath or pacification for example. The eight principal forms were assumed by Guru Rinpoche at different points in his life. The Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava belong to the tradition of the Revealed Treasures.

The Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava do not depict different Padmasambhavas, but reflect his ability to appear according to different needs and demands. In fact, they are called in Tibetan "Guru Tsen Gye".

The eight ‘names’ of the Guru; each manifestation demonstrates a different principle that unveils the innermost nature of mind. As Guru Rinpoche said: “Mind itself is Padmasambhava; there is no practice or meditation apart from that.” Guru Orgyen Dorje Chang ,The vajra-holder,shown dark blue in color in the attire of the Sambhogakaya. Depicted in union with consort.
The first great manifestation - Guru Pema Gyalpo
The first emanation is called Guru Padma Gyalpo. Gyalpo means king. Guru Padma Gyalpo is the form in which Guru Padmasambhava originally appeared in our world.

In this form, Guru Rinpoche is depicted as a young prince with his left leg folded in his lap and his right leg extended and set on a lotus, ready to act; with his right hand he plays the damaru and with his left hand, he displays a mirror.
This is the precious statue of Pema Gyalpo, one of the great manifestation of Guru Rinpoche. The statue is a terma tresure revealed by the 15th Karmapa. In this picture, The precious statue of Pema Gyalpo is currently kept by His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje.

Samye Ling Monastery Scotland UK Part 11 - The Victory Stupa for World Peace

We had a short meditation and relax oneself to the tranquility environment. We spent sometimes by walking around at the garden, the Samye Ling garden comprises some two acres of land within the extensive grounds of the Monastery and is comparable to an old fashioned kitchen garden found at a traditional British country house.
The garden is completely enclosed by thick hedges and comprises fruit and vegetable plots, and flower and herb gardens. There are workshops and potting sheds, greenhouses and cold frames, a walled garden, a shop and a library.
The first authentic Stupa in Britain was consecrated in Scotland on August 3rd 2000 It had been planned to mark the New Millenium and to celebrate the 60th Birthday of Akong Tulku Rinpoche. and the Stupa and it was dedicated to healing the environment and overcoming obstacles to World Peace.
The Stupa inner shrine is open to visitors during the weekends. It can be used for private meditation and also offers space for the remains and ashes of those who wish to be laid to rest either within it or in the prayer wheel house.
I and my Scottish friends were having so much of a wonderful moments in Samye Ling Monastery and I do hope that my dear readers will be able to spend and staying some day with the Lamas and Rinpoche for a meaningful paths and to experience a magnificent Monastic life.

Samye Ling Monastery Scotland UK Part 7 -The temple of the fine arch

At noon we had finally arrived at the Samye Ling Monastery and this is the entrance of the Monastery and you can see the  Majestic and beautiful Tibetan structure, which i called it  "the temple of the fine arch"  is standing tall and welcoming you to the holy place of Scotland UK. This "temple of the fine arch" has been modified in recent years and there are four heavenly guardian deities images had been printed on the 4 pillars. In the Buddhist faiths, be it a Mahayana or a Vajrayana schools,  there are four heavenly deities guardian and each of whom watches over one cardinal direction of the world.
The temperature was rather icy and chilly cold. It was extremely freezing cold weather partly due to the strong wind and until I had the difficulty to put on my winter clothes. The holy lake is completely frozen and while the danger from winter varies across the country, depending on how severe the condition is.
This is Samye Ling Monastery and we arrived late afternoon and the vegetarian lunch was over. Due to heavily rain and there are not many visitors today. The main shrine was conducting the Mahakala Prayer and it is scheduled at 1.30pm - 3.00pm. We restrained our self for taking any photos when the monks and nuns and others are conducting the afternoon prayers.
For your information, Mahakala prayers is usually conducted at the afternoon or before the end of the day. My Pilgrimage Tour To India - Sarnath

Sarnath is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, about 30km from the city of Varanasi (Benares). From Bidhgaya the distance is about 250km.
Sarnath , Place of the Buddha's First Sermon, after spending seven weeks at the seven places in Bodhgaya following his enlightenment , The Buddha was undecided about teaching the Dharma to others as he realized that it was profound and hard to discover, and others would not understand Him.
Brahma Sahampati (大梵天人)
According to the Buddhist scripture, it was Brahma Sahampati (大梵天人) who entreated the Buddha to teach the world about Dharma. Initially  Buddha hesitated to preach the principal of Dharma teaching that as He realized that it was profound and hard to discover, and others would not understand Him.  But Brahma Sahampati insisted as in this way the doctrine of Dharma will spread amongst the lay peoples, and pleaded with Him to teach the Dharma otherwise the world would be lost. The Blessed one listened to Brahma Sahampati's pleading and decided to go to Benares to peach to the five Ascetics, namely: Kondanna, Vappa, Bhaddiya, Mahanama and Assaji, who had served him for 6 years but left Buddha abandoned the path of self-mortification.
Finally Buddha agreed to spread the Dharma.
