On March 17, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, will begin a limited US tour that will see him visiting at six universities: Stanford, University of Redlands, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. He will also visit Mount Laurel, New Jersey; New York City; Kingston, New York; and Seattle, Washington. This will be His Holiness’s third visit to the States.

A  press released  from the Karmapa stated that he will receive a Chubb Fellowship—one of Yale’s highest honors for visiting lecturers, previously held by Aung San Suu Kyi, Morgan Freeman, and George H. W. Bush. The Karmapa will also receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from University of Redlands

He Is Coming And Will Be Arriving To America Today

You better watch out, you better watch out, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa , Ogyen Trinley Dorje is coming to town - USA today.

At the New Delhi International airport India, a huge long line of devoted Buddhists , especially the Tibetan folks are so exciting and waiting to offer Karta to His Holiness at the departure hall on March 06, 2015.

I am equally excited too, if you look at the pictures of how many devoted Buddhists had been long waiting in the hall. The New Delhi International airport is usually quiet and you will feel so relax and calm, but not tonight, tonight is the night , we are seeing His Holiness is leaving and He will be arriving at the America by approximately 18 hours long journey flights from India.

I am emotionally excited too, as I had mentioned many times, it is very fortunate to have a good karma or merits to be able to meet, to see or just to have a glimpsed of His presence. Not to mention, if anyone could  ever have the opportunity to receive His Holiness teachings, blessings directly. So as I said and will said one more time, America is truly a Blessed nation on earth, She has been visited by the His Holiness not once but this is His thirds Holy visits to a land that fills with many promises, great opportunities, human rights but what most importantly is the freedoms of individual religion right that matter most.

Back to end of December 2008 in Bodhigaya India, it was 6.00am , the temperature  was  very cold and freezing. There were many devoted Buddhists from all over the world had already lined up at the Monastery. Our group was organized by H.E Sherap Rinpoche and His brother Lama Dorje, after waited almost 5 hours , we were little fortunate, to have a private audience with His Holiness and we had received His Holiness empowerment and short teachings.

That was my first time seeing His Holiness, He was 23 years old then.  He is a handsome looking young man and almost 6 feet tall, but you will be amazed by His Holiness energy, His presence will give you some kind of phenomena ,a very positive energy, and it is more than words can describe. Like  I had been struck by lightning, struck by His Holiness presence, particularly His big eyes. His Eyes just like the x-ray that can see through your inner self that connected to your past, your  present and your coming future. I was completely electrified like being shocked and speechless . 

What comes next was, I can't stop myself emotional being touched by His presence, I can't hold on myself and burst into tears. My eyes filled with tears that you simply can't explain with a logical reason. I felt so fortunate and had the good karma and merits that in this life time that i can pay my homage to His Holiness even thought I don't have enough money to pay for this pilgrimage trip and have to borrow money from friends. But then again, with this holy pilgrimage and paying the homage and respects  to His Holiness is worth more than any worldly material gains that can benefit through this lif time.

H.E Sherap Rinpoche was one of the monks who helped to build the Stupa for keeping the 16th Karmapa His Holiness relics after His body has been cremated in India.

A Very Blessed And Fortunate Nation- New York America (Part 2)

America is truly a Blessed and fortunate nation on earth and there are many other devoted Buddhists around the world, especially the Asia continents, countries who are desperate, wholeheartedly and enthusiastically hoping  to have a chance just to have a glimpse of His Holiness. It had been said that it is so unbelievable meritorious of blessing just to have met, or to have glimpsed of His Holiness present.

Latest news update that His Holiness will be on His 3rd official visits to America, His Holiness will be visiting Queens, New York on April 13, 2015. A very good news to New Yorker indeed.In this moment, The Karmapa Service Society in New York City would request His Holiness to perform a Long-Life Empowerment for Himalayan Buddhist Community  during His Holiness's proposed visit. The initiation of this blessing will begin from 4.00pm on the above date and at the following venue:-

To all my dear readers, I am writing with my great pleasure indeed that I am going to organize a minimum target of reciting 1,000,000 long life prayers for His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje and all merits especially to be dedicated to His Holiness this coming 30 year old birthday on June 29, 2015.

This is my first Dharma activity that I  intended and humbly urge and plead to anyone, especially my dearest readers share this opportunity for joining me to achieve this 1,000,000 recitation of Long Life Prayers for dedication to His Holiness to have a long healthy life and His wellbeing. A compilation of a group chanting will be generated much more positive and meritorious and be able to contribute effectively in performing his enlightened activities to benefit all the beings. 

I had proposed this 1 million prayers project to Lama Tashi of Dilyak Monastery. Lama Tashi is one of the very student of his Guru -His Holiness the 17th Karmapa.  Lama Tashi was very delighted indeed and wished the prayers can start as soonest possible as His Holiness's birthday is merely 3 months away from now.

Lama Tashi has entrusted me to gather the following details and to submit to him the name list of the participants who had devoted of their hard works and loves toward to His Holiness. 

The 1,000,000 Long Life recitations prayer registration, The priority will be shared and assigned to my signed up dear followers of this blog. H.H The 17th Karmapa's Talk why be a Vegetarian / Not-Eating- Meat

Since I have about a half an hour, I wanted to talk about being vegetarian. It's not easy to talk too much about being vegetarian, to give up meat eating. I think it's very important to know how to think about eating meat and how to put it into practice. Now I should start to talk because this half hour is about to finish. To begin with we will say some prayers.

Generally regarding those who are ordained, if you ask if meat is allowed for the monks or not, some people say that it is not allowed because if there are people who are eating meat, then there will be people who will kill those animals, and if there is no one eating meat then there would be no one will make the meat. So therefore eating meat is very much related to killing and therefore the negative deed of killing is very much caused by eating meat. Now whether that is true or not is something different….If there are people who are using the pearls, then these people who use the pearls cause the killing of the shellfish. And also those people who wear certain kind of dresses, people who wear brocades—silk is also made by certain animals or certain insects—so anybody who is wearing these clothes or anything that is coming from animals [is also killing animals].

And also if there is nobody who eats meat, then because of eating things like grains and so forth, also this causes lots of insects under the earth to come up on the earth and then all those beings living on top of the earth go below and therefore cause a lot of beings to die.

Because there are sheep, there will be people who are killing the sheep. So therefore, being a sheep is also a problem, a kind of source of the negative deed. [Therefore] just being one cause cannot be the same as being the actual deed of negative things.

There was once a person in China who used to butcher pigs. Each day he used to kill a pig and he used to make his sword red. Sometimes he thought, “Why should I do this? Each day I'm killing a pig.” And he thought, “It's not because I want to kill the pig but because other people want to eat [it] and need the pig and therefore that's why I'm doing it,” and so he was consoling himself that it's not too bad.

A moment of light and easy with His Holiness the 17th Karmapa

A moment of light and easy with His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorjee has spent some of his precious time preparing and mixing together ingredients to make cookies at the Bodhgaya.

Preparation of the cookies are ready to be baked in the oven. 

The sweet and tasty traditional Tibetan cookies are perfectly well baked and arranged by His Holiness.
