Acts of Loving Kindness

Kindness is the language
The blind can see it
The deaf can hear it
The animals can feel it

Many people may have recited a thousand of mantras yet if he or she without any sense of kindness and compassion toward others, it is just like the parrot singing and get absolutely nothing but mere merits.

How great is it that our random acts of kindness and good deeds can make someone else’s entire day? Take five minutes to send postcards or emails to sick children who are fighting serious illnesses and want to receive mail.

Find opportunities to practice and sometimes by just giving a compliment. It costs nothing, takes no time, and could make someone’s entire day.

Do our best to have a little kindness towards others, including all beings as often as possible and let contemplate, let our love and compassion unfetter you from ignorance and sharpens your ability to appraise.
Compassion and kindness are like the sanctuary that provides us a safe haven, when the storm is raging around us and naturally our reaction is to seek and find a shelter for safety.

So,compassion and wisdom are the wings that lighten all human’ development in many aspects of our lives, whether it’s a spiritual journey or a self achievement.

Loving kindness and Bodhichitta are the messages of life, you don't learn only in institutions. Life itself is a living Journal that teaches something to those who wish to learn. This is the reason why I am always beginning my writing post of a title of The Living Journal.
The Living Journal is related to Dharma and Dharma is a living philosophy and teaches us how significant to learn the Dharma and to apply it in our daily life. Your little kindness goes a long way and leave footprints of your love and kindness wherever you go.

The living Journal - No One Makes It Alone

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
By H.H 14th Dalai Lama

Days slip into weeks, weeks turn into months and months transform into years. Calendars are changing and so am I and you too.
In the face of so much suffering, of problems that seem impossible to solve, it is easy to despair.  To consume ourselves with rage and frustration, or to escape into all the distractions and false comforts on offer.  All of these reactions serve only to reinforce our anger, frustration and fear, which in turn creates more reactivity, in ourselves and in the people we interact with.

Aware of the suffering brought about when we impose our views on others, we are determined not to force others, even our children, by any means whatsoever — such as authority, threat, money, propaganda, or indoctrination — to adopt our views.
We are committed to respecting the right of others to be different, to choose what to believe and how to decide. We will, however, learn to help others let go on and transform narrowness through loving speech and compassionate dialogue.

Reaching our goals are not always easy; that is why we need Dharma and others by our side. We are all having so many different explanations and definitions of what happiness is and what it means to all of us.
It doesn't matter what come to us; the challenges, crossroads, and lifestyle changes you come across in your life, at the end of the day, your happiness is what truly matters most. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, a single parent with children, you are having a busy work life or whatever the circumstances are, it’s important to know how to be happy.

When you know what makes you truly happy, practice self-love first, take care of yourself and step out of your comfort zone, you will be able to see how powerful being self-happy alone can be. If you don’t know what is going to make you happy, how can you expect someone else to? You need to know and experience what real love and happiness is like by yourself before you commit to loving someone else.

It might be scary at first, but here are some ideas that can help you to feel more positive about being negative. Get to know yourself by spending some time alone in solitude. Do something that will help you relax and focus on your mind, body and soul.

Have a reflection of what make you happy and what is not, contemplate it and letting go what holding you so negative, so tightening up yourself, and visualize a smiling face of the Buddha, Arya Taras , your love ones, embrace it and merge with these positive smiling faces and stay with it.

Try to do the reflections regularly, It helps us all loosening up ourselves and stay positive and transform suffering into compassion and a positive ways of life.

Advice From The Lotus Born - Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava

Don’t mistake mere words to be the meaning of the teachings. Mingle the practice with your own being and attain liberation from samsara right now - By Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava.

How to dispell of obstacles and obstructions in our daily life?

How to deal with it when one faces the negative ?
How to letting go of what is not right and harmful views and deeds ?

The profundity of this advice is meant to be personally applied by all individuals in all circumstances. It is a classic work, which contains valid truth for anyone who sincerely wants to follow a spiritual path.

Guru Rinpoche“Padmasambhava’s pith instructions are extremely important because he is not just a legendary figure or an ancient myth. He is an actual person who continuously carries out spontaneous activities, including manifesting as treasure revealers, so that there is always a fresh, unimpaired teaching that people can practice. This also ensures that Padmasambhava’s spiritual influence and blessings are unceasing.
Before Padmasambhava left Tibet, he made many predictions and hid many teachings to be revealed in the future and he blessed his close disciples to be inseparable from himself. In this way, they would reincarnate in the future, reveal the hidden teachings and be as powerful as Guru Rinpoche himself, endowed with great miraculous powers, such as the ability to fly through the sky, traverse freely through solid matter and be unimpeded in expounding all the sutras and treatises as well as the meaning of the tantras.

In particular, Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava has prophesied the coming of 108 great tertöns or hidden treasure-revealers. Since world history fluctuates causing particular difficulties to arise at different times which must be faced by human beings, each tertön would appear at a certain period in history.
Having foreknowledge of these historic intervals, Guru Rinpoche designed specific practices which would be revealed at the appropriate times in order to aid human beings. The tertöns who would reveal the termas’ would then have a teaching that was totally fresh and up-to-date, and meant for that specific time and situation.

Just as we prefer to have fresh food prepared in a way that will not make us sick because its rotten, in the same way, the terma teachings revealed with the short lineage’ are endowed with a very special quality. Namely, that it has a short lineage’ which has not been interrupted by any damage or breaking of samaya.

It has not been interpolated by anyone else, but has come directly from Guru Rinpoche by means of the revelation of one of his disciples appearing as a present-day incarnation. The teaching is then spread to people for their immediate practice.

The advice of the dispeller of obstacles belongs to this class of teachings. This is cycle of teachings is based on Guru sadhana. Guru Rinpoche practice is extremely important because Guru Rinpoche, the Lotus-born One, is not just a legendary figure from some old story of the past.
Guru Rinpoche he is an actual person who continuously carries out spontaneous activities, not only by sending emanations of himself into this world as tertöns’ so that there is always a fresh unimpaired teaching that people can practice. but also because Guru Rinpoche’s spiritual influence and blessings are unceasing. If we can practice this sadhana, it will be very beneficial.

The complete advice of Guru Rinpoche is now available and can be downloaded from apple itune:-

Garuda - The Mysterious Kings Of the Skies

The legend of King Garuda in ancient Tibet, The King Garuda was a mountain deity of Rebkong, Tibet, an area on the west of the river in Amdo province. Their wingspan is said to be many miles wide; when they flap their wings, they cause hurricane-force winds that brings great destruction to mankinds. After he was subjugated by Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava and became a worldly protector.

Garuda is the Sanskrit name and in Tibetan word it known as 'khyung' Garuda is a mythical bird-like creature symbolizing various elements of the Buddhist path. Garudas are usually represented with a snake in their beak and hands, symbolizing the protection from ophidians and the subjugation of nagas [serpents]. The garuda is a mythical semi-divine bird-like creature that is the enemy of the nagas.
Garuda is the king of bird and creature of Buddhist mythology. Its Name derives from the root Gri, to swallow: Garuda devours the snakes and is the natural enemy of snakes and he devours or controls them. He is represented with a human upper Body, big Eyes, beak, short blue horns, yellow Hair standing on end, bird's claws and wings.
The Dhyani Buddha Amoghasiddhi sometimes is pictured riding a Garuda. In the Tibetan tradition, the garudas which are important deities of the Bön pantheon, and practised during healing rituals in order to counter certain illnesses provoked by nagas.

There are five different forms and colors of the Garuda which representing aspects of wisdom and characteristic of the five Buddhas activities:-
1) Red Garuda represent fire elements.
2) Yellow Garuda represents earth elements.
3) Black Garuda represents air elements.
4) White Garude represents water elements.
5) Blue or rainbow Garuda represents space elements.
Garuda is an important deity of protection. Garuda symbolizes the space element and the Power of the sun, which can dry up the waters. Therefore he is the natural enemy of snakes and he devours or controls them. He represents the Spiritual energy of which devours the delusions of jealousy. And hatred, which are represented by the snake.

Garuda is also the openness: he can stretch out his wings and soar into space. He represents the great freedom of the mind which can open and is not up tied by conflicting emotions the wise mind which reaches every where, like the rays of the sun, and brings about the growth of life and wisdom.
Specifically in Buddhism Garuda is related of the perfection of giving dana paramita (The first practice of virtue-Bestowing Joyfulness) just as the rays of the sun give life to the earth.

The Buddha And The Dragon

Many Buddha statues are seen where the Buddha is depicted in meditation pose sheltered by a serpent with  a single headed or multi-headed king cobra. The serpents are said to have raised their hoods to shelter and to protect the Buddha during his meditation.  The great Serpent of mythology is often depicted as half human, half snake.  It may also take the form of a many-headed cobra like the one thought to have sheltered the Buddha Shakyamuni and Nagajuna Bodhisattva.
In Buddhism, According to one legend, when the Buddha recognized a naga that appeared as a snake, he had such compassion that he gave the creature the Five Precepts so the naga could return in the next life as a human who could become a monk.  Born into the animal realms, they can also appear as complete serpents or fully human. Dragons can be dangerous, protective or generous with human beings, and can even be potential Buddhas.Tibetan Buddhists believe some nagas are demonic, while others are semi-divine beings who guard material and spiritual treasures, such as sacred texts.
Naga the word come from Sanskrit. Naga or dragon is the word for snake or serpent, in most of the languages of India, Naga referred to the king Cobra,  In the Tibetan and Hindu mythology, Nagas or dragons are primarily serpent-beings. The dragon is a deity of the primal ocean and of mountain springs; also spirits of earth and the realm beneath it, and finally, dragons.

The Nagas are spirits of the underworld, to be found at points where their realm impinges on ours - such as springs and rivers. They store great treasures of wealth and precious stones, and sometimes books of secret teachings in underwater palaces. Like other wealthy beings, these powerful Nagas were formerly people very generous in temperament however, they are dangerous and volatile and also easily get angry and cruel. Their deadly enemy is the Garuda, strongest of the birds."
In Tibet, and the Nagas are known as "klu" and the Dragon play a role in the symbolism of Tibetan Buddhism and in Tibetan mythology, Benign Nagas can be the most generous of allies, but their fierce counterparts are known to cause certain classes of disease. In Tibet they are propitiated as lords of the rain.

A famous legendary of Naga in Tibet
The tradition of Sera Monastery holds that when Sakya Yeshe was on his way back from visiting China, it so happened that the set of Tengyur (Buddhist scriptures) donated by the emperor fell into the water while the party was fording a river. The travellers could see that the texts were hopelessly lost and so, distraught, they continued on their way back to Sera Monastery.

When the caravan finally got back, the monks told them that just before their return, an old man with attendants had visited Sera and presented a set of scriptures to the monastery.  He said that he was delivering it for Sakya Yeshe.  It was believed that the old man was really a Naga king, for when the texts were examined, it was found that they were still a bit damp.
An explanation of the Dragon by H.E Tsewang Ngodrup Rinpoche.
Nagas [klu] are a class of beings that dwell in a variety of locations ranging from waterways and underground locations and also in unseen realms. These beings have their own perceptions and vary in their enlightened level as do humans and other beings.

Nagas are susceptible to suffering created by mankind's carelessness and basic ignorance of proper conduct in nature and disrespectful actions in relation to our environment. Therefore Nagas often retaliate towards humans when they behave in such ignorant manners. The expression of the Nagas' discontent and agitation can be felt as skin diseases, various calamities and so forth.
Additionally, Nagas can bestow various types of wealth, assure fertility of crops and the environment as well as decline these blessings. For this reason the practice of "Lu Sang".
[ Lu Sang - literally means smoke puja ] has been developed or arises as a natural method to increase prosperity, and assist the Nagas by preserving the positive qualities of their natural environment.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the dragon pujas serve with many purposes. Buddhists appease dragon that threaten mankind with diseases by holding rituals and making offerings that appeal to the Dragon sensibilities so that the dragons do not threaten and cause harm to them.

* Footnote *
The Tibetan is only giving offerings to appease to the dragons not to harm them, but the Tibetan Buddhist doesn't take refuge from these worldly beings. As a Buddhist and regardless of what traditions, we only take refuge to the Three Jewels - Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.
